The tutors of Nomad Tutors are all education professionals who are either Ontario Qualified Teachers, aspiring teachers who are currently enrolled in teacher's college, or have experience working within the realms of education. I am the owner of Nomad Tutors. In the winter of 2009, I graduated from the University of Guelph with a BSc. Honors in Biology. That same February, I traveled abroad to Australia to pursue my dream to become a teacher. In the fall of 2009, I graduated with a Graduate Diploma of Education from Southern Cross University in New South Wales, Australia. After returning from Australia, I continued to take my teaching diploma and expertise to other countries. I lived in Cambridge, England during the school year of 2010-2011 and taught at Jack Hunt Secondary School in Peterborough, England. I am currently working as a Physics and Chemistry Teacher with at Bishop Macdonell and a tutor with Nomad Tutors. I have a combined total of 12 years of tutoring experience and 7 years of teaching experience. I completed my Masters of Education through St. Francis Xavier University.

Hi everyone! My name is Marlene Dale. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Honours Biology and two minors in Chemistry and Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University. I am currently attending the Medical Radiation Technology program at Fanshawe College. In the past few years, I have tutored high school students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, and English. I currently tutor students at Fanshawe College who are in the Pre-Health Sciences program. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading and being outdoors. I hope to inspire students to achieve their learning goals by being a positive and encouraging role model.

Hello! My name is Sheila Holmes. I have a BSc from the University of Guelph in Biological Science, a diploma from Sheridan College in Educational Assistant/Support and lastly a MSc in Elementary Education from Medaille College in Buffalo, NY. I have been working as an Educational Assistant for 9 years (4 years in Halton Region and 5 Years in Upper Grand). I have recently completed my teacher training and am in the process of becoming certified to teach in Ontario. I have been in classrooms from Kindergarten to Grade 12. My specialities are elementary subjects as well as grade 9-12 English, grade 9-10 Math and Science. In my spare time I like to volunteer in the Guelph community. I am also a Girl Guide leader in the city and I am an avid hiker. I also enjoy practise yoga and hope to explore that world more. I really like to help students unlock their hidden abilities and celebrate even the smallest win. I am a patient person who strives to find a way to make learning fun for everyone!

Hi, my name is Abdul. I have a bachelor degree in Mathematics. I started tutoring in Pakistan when I finished my Graduation degree. I was a Math and Science Teacher in Pakistan. I can speak three different languages fluently (Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi). I am qualified to teach different subjects such as: Mathematics, Data Management, Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, Advance Functions, Statistics, College and University Mathematics and Computer Science. I completed my Educational Assistant diploma from Conestoga College in December 2015. Currently, I am working with students with special needs. I am currently an Educational Assistant with Upper Grand District School Board. I work part time for Tim Horton’s as an Assistant Manager. Right now, I am doing my Bachelor degree in education. I enjoy playing cricket, cooking and spend time with my family. Everyone learns in a different way so I always try to find what methods or strategy works best for each student. Hello! My name is Julianah and I am able to tutor math and science subjects at the elementary and high school (grades 9-12) levels. Specific subjects include: Grades 9 & 10 math, Functions, Advanced Functions, Calculus & Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and others.  I completed my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Guelph, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and I am currently a medical student at the University of Toronto. I started tutoring as a highschool student and I have developed a deep passion for teaching. I have over 5 years of tutoring experience. Outside of teaching and school, I love to cook/bake, take walks and spend time with my family. I am flexible and able to adapt to many different learning styles. I always look forward to working with students to help them achieve their academic goals!

Hello! I’m Sharath Birudaraju. I’m a recent graduate with a Masters Degree in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering from Ryerson University, Toronto. I have 5 years of experience in teaching high school Mathematics, Physics & General Science in Canada, Norway & India. Also, I served as a graduate teaching assistant for the course Material Science & Project Management at Ryerson University. Apart from the teaching experience, I’m a Quality Control Engineer working for a reputed manufacturing industry and an Ontario Professional Engineer(P.Eng) aspirant. Teaching is more like a passionate hobby than a profession to me. I’m very experienced in dealing with students by tuning them to grasp very basics thereby making a complex subject into an easy stuff. I’m committed to helping students overcome academic challenges to reach their personal goals by instilling confidence to enjoy the subject. Hello! My name is Nichelle Cousins, and I am going into my fourth and final year at the University of Guelph studying Criminal Justice & Public Policy! I am thrilled to begin my first year as an elementary and secondary English, Humanities, French (K-6) and Mathematics (K-6) teacher! Previously, I was a camp counsellor to all ages for five summers straight! It was an incredible experience where I always able to teach and be taught by children and young adults from all backgrounds and experiences.

Hello! I’m Deborah Pennock. After many years away, I have just moved back to Guelph.  I have done a lot since leaving, including studying and being a teacher to students of all ages in many different settings.  My last position was as a middle and high school teacher at an IB school in Mexico.  Before that I taught in a university and with the Vancouver School Board.  After growing up in Guelph, I did a BA in English at McGill and a TEFLA Certificate in London, England.  Then I worked as an ESL teacher in Turkey and Spain. I returned to Canada and worked as an ESL teacher in Vancouver, studied a BEd. (Secondary English and ESL) at the University of British Columbia and an MEd. (Curriculum and Instruction: ESL) at Simon Fraser University.  Then I went to live and work in Mexico.   I specialize in teaching English and English as a Second Language, and I have taught and tutored many subjects including Communication, Social Studies and History.  For me, the best part of being a teacher is creating positive learning experiences for my students, so they can develop skills and reach their learning goals.

Hello! My name is Thomas McAusland, I have a PhD from the University of Guelph in the field cancer therapeutics. Additionally, I obtained my Bachelor of Science with honours in molecular biology and genetics from the University of Guelph. I have tutored university students ranging from 1st year to 4th year in subjects such as microbiology, advanced molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, and immunology. I have guest lectured in multiple classes in molecular and medical virology. I have published multiple research articles assessing various anti-cancer strategies in multiple scientific journals. My time tutoring and teaching in graduate studies has allowed me to develop a passion for teaching as a hobby, of which I look forward to continuing. Outside of the academic environment I also coach fitness classes at a local gym in Guelph. I am able to adapt to a variety of teaching styles, and I also have a flexible schedule. I look forward to working with you!

My name is Jyoti. I am presently pursuing my PhD at University of Guelph in the field of Biomedical Sciences. Additionally I have a Masters degree from University of Guelph, and Bachelors from India in the field of Pharmaceutical sciences. I have 5 year of teaching experience as I have been appointed as a Teaching assistant for various Undergraduate courses during my doctoral as well as masters program(s) at University of Guelph. While teaching these courses I was directly involved in having one-on-one interaction with the students during lab sessions and the mandated office hours. Additionally, I have been involved in various non-profit organisations such as Let’s Talk Science where I would teach various scientific concepts to the students in a fun manner. Apart from this, in my spare time I like to catch-up on my favourite shows on Netflix, try different food cuisines and am learning how to play guitar.
